January 1996


January 5, 1996

- Game in Clinton versus IHC. Clinton wins 16-0, and Coach Tim Suppe suggest a donation bucket for the band. He also gives the band new hockey shirts.

January 6, 1996

- Hockey game in Colgate against SLU. Adams, Young, and Vasselli take short cut to the game. Dahlin and Barnaba couldn't see during the game which Colgate lost. Parucki is missing. Many announcement of the band are made during the game.

January 9, 1996

- Hockey game in Clinton against RCH which Clinton wins 11-0. First game with the new DUSK sign. Band does not get along well because of the school night situation. The game is on film.

January 13, 1996

- Basketball games in Colgate. Parucki is missing. Little kids get our autographs. The women's team loses, and the men's win.

January 26, 1996

- Game in Clinton versus New Hartford. Clinton wins 4-3 in Overtime. 2300 people go crazy at the Clinton Arena! This is the last game with Adams. The game is on film.



February 1996


February 2, 1996

- Hernandez, Dahlin, Mroz, and Vasselli DJ hockey game in Clinton vs. Cazenovia. Clinton wins 9-2. First home hockey game the band doesn't play at in two seasons.

February 7, 1996

- After pit orchestra practice, Adams is fired by Dahlin. Schlist was hired earlier in the day. Adams throws DUSK shirt at Dahlin.

February 9, 1996

- Band practices after school and plays at Varsity basketball game loss versus Proctor the night. First game with Schlist, and Hernandez plays for the missing Barnaba. Parucki is also absent.

February 11, 1996

- Band practices at Young's without Barnaba. Barnaba calls band from Potsdam during the practice.

February 13, 1996

- Band plays at hockey game in Clinton vs. Skeneatles. Clinton wins 6-1, Parucki shows near the end. Vasselli and Barnaba are missing. First time with a kerosene heater. Young breaks the door handle into the arena.

February 16, 1996

- Band plays at hockey game versus Solvay, a sectional quarterfinal, which Clinton wins 13-1. Barnaba covers the absent Parucki by playing the keyboards. Dahlin picks up Barnaba in Potsdam that day. The game is on film, thanks to Mroz and Vasselli.

February 17, 1996

- Band plays at Girls' Varsity Basketball game vs. Jordan-Eldbridge, which they lose 48-47. Kathy Gale scores 5 points. Parucki is missing. The game is on film. Dahlin, Barnaba, and Young arrange new National Anthem until 5am that night.

February 18, 1996

- Band, without Young, goes on band trip to Savoy in Rome. DUSK fraternity is thought up that night. It would later be called Sigma Peanut Butter Kappa.

February 19, 1996

- Dahlin and Parucki have disagreements at Barnaba's house. Dahlin unexpectedly leaves early. Barnaba holds sectionals with the rest of the band.

February 20, 1996

- Hockey game in Clinton versus Skeneatles which they win 5-0. First time Barnaba and Parucki play with new member Bill Schlist. The game is on film.

February 21, 1996

- Practice at Young's house. New anthem is put together.

February 23, 1996

- Band is interviewed by the Observer-Dispatch Utica newspaper at Barnaba's house. Mroz and Parucki don't attend as they were at school.

February 24, 1996

- Band plays at the Aud in Clinton versus Baldwinsville game which they win 5-3. Band is almost not allowed to play but eventually is able to. The game is on film.



March 1995


March 2, 1996

- Band plays at Oneida County airport for Liz Dole. Play 17% of songs in short amount of time, including "Soul Man". After food, a DUSK nap, and the enjoyment of watching "Spaceballs" the movie, band plays at JFK arena for Rome benefit game. Band is listed in back of the program. Young is absent in the night game. Both events are on film.

March 3, 1996

- Band appears in "Class Act" section of the Observer-Dispatch.

March 8, 1996

- Band plays in Utica Auditorium for win against Woodbury 16-1. Clinton is one win away from back-back State Championships.

March 9, 1996

- Band plays at aud for 6-5 win over Troy-LaSalle Institute for championship. Kathy Gale sits in with the trumpets. Band drives in parade and attends the banquet after the game. Final record for 1995-1996 Clinton Warriors is 22-2-0, they are Section III champions and NYS champions. The game is on film.

March 17, 1996

- Band plays at Jeff Taylor's surprise birthday party 5-9pm (approx.). Barnaba is absent.



April 1996


April 6, 1996

- Band holds recording session at the DUSKcave for the top twenty-five, which is actually 26 songs. It takes 3 hours of hard work to complete. Jermaine Hill attends later to begin work on New York, New York. Takes 2 and 3 of this were recorded. The sessionis on film and audio tape.

April 8, 1996

- Band attends hockey banquet for State Champion Clinton warriors.



May 1996


May 4, 1996

- Band practices at the DUSKcave.

May 15, 1996

- Band hires Scott Hale as new trombonest.

May 19, 1996

- Scott Hale quits band, 107 hours after joining. Schlist tells band 5 more weeks till he can come back. Band practices 7-9pm at the DUSKcave. Jeff Mroz w/ replace Schlist but will stay permanent after Schlist returns to ultimately replace Ben Young.

May 20, 1996

- Band practices after school. Ben Hirshfield and Ken Chapple, along with Hill and Barron, will join the band for "Battle of the Bands".

May 22, 1996

- Band practices at the DUSKcave 5:30-6:30pm.

May 23, 1996

- Band practices after school until 3:30pm.

May 27, 1996

- Band practices at Barnaba's house in front of family for a small gathering.

May 29, 1996

- Band plays at "Battle of the Bands" at the school and proudly wins first place. The concert is on film. Along with one of the earlier acts, "Better than DUSK" with Josh Dahlin's brother, Matt.



June 1996


June 1, 1996

- Band plays on the green for the KAC run through the village. Play from 6:30pm to 9:30pm with an hour of break.

June 12, 1996

- Barnaba and Parucki write some music at Young's house.

June 13, 1996

- Barnaba finishes up music writing at Young's house.

June 22, 1996

- Barnaba and Parucki DJ at Steve Desjardin's, a goalie of the Clinton Hockey team, graduation party.

June 23, 1996

- Band DJ's John Majka's graduation party and plays at Ben Young's later in day. Band also practices at Young's house after party.

June 27, 1996

- Band plays at annual Pig Roast for Politician Ray Meier in Deerfield.

June 29, 1996

- Band plays at Wedding for Ian and Pam Richards at the American Legion in Clark Mills. Kathy Gale is sworn in as an official DUSK member. Band holds the first Zimbabwe Safari at Vasselli's house that night.

June 30, 1996

- Band holds practice at the Cave. Lucas Hernandez and Ben Hirshfield are sworn in as official DUSK members.

July 4, 1996

- Band plays in parade through village of Clinton. The parade is on film.

July 7, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 7-10pm.

July 9, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 8-10pm.

July 11, 1996

- Band plays at the "Good Ole Summertime". 4-5pm. Parucki and Barnaba finish their third original song and call it "One Day".

July 14, 1996

- Band plays at the Boilermaker Road Race from 8-10am. The event is on film.

July 16, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 7-9pm.

July 18, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 7-9pm. There is an audio tape of the practice.

July 21, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 6-10pm. There is an audio tape of the practice.

July 22, 1996

- Band meeting, cleaning held at the cave.

July 23, 1996

- Band plays at the green. 7-9pm. This is the last time Chris Barron, trombonest, plays with the band. 12 members, a record, plays in the concert. DUSK premiers their first three original songs, written by David Barnaba and Kevin Parucki, "Tell Me Something", "The Answer"(then called simply "Answer"), and "One Day". The concert is on film.

July 30, 1996

- Band Practices at the Cave. 7-9pm. Barnaba, Dahlin, and Parucki work on the DUSK trailer.



August 1996


Early August

- Parucki and Barnaba finish their fourth original and call it "Legend". It would become the most popular and famous of the original.

- Band plays at Yahunadasis for Hirshfield's Grandparent's Fiftieth wedding anniversary. 7-11pm. The event is on tape.

August 13, 1996

- Parucki and Barnaba finish their fifth original song and call it "Being in Motion".

August 14, 1996

- Band's practice/performance for Mrs. Dahlin's birthday party is cancelled because of poor attendance.

August 15, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 7-9pm.

August 17, 1996

- Parucki and Barnaba DJ for the band at a wedding reception in Sauquoit.

August 18, 1996

- Band practices at the Cave. 7-9pm. There is an audio tape of the practice.

August 24, 1996

- Band plays and DJ's at a wedding party for the Gale family. 7-10pm. The event is on film and there is an audio tape of it.

August 26, 1996

- Final great Summer of 1996 practice is held in Parucki's garage from 7-10pm. After this, Barnaba and Parucki will head up to college in SUNY Potsdam for 2 semesters. The practice is on film and audio tape.

- Blizzard game at Arena. Only Hernandez is absent. The game is on film and there is an audio tape of it.

- Football loss vs. Little Falls. Barnaba, Parucki, and Young are absent.

- Practice at School. Young is absent. There is an audio tape of the practice.

- Football loss vs. CBA. Barnaba, Parucki, and Young are absent.

October 31, 1996

- Girls Soccer vs. Westhill at Carrier Dome. Barnaba and Parucki come down from Potsdam to play and meet the band in Syracuse(the band had their own bus take them there).



November 1996


November 17, 1996

- Band plays at Hernandez' Eagle Scout ceremony, playing "The Horse", "The Star-Spangled Banner", and "25 or 6 to 4". Barnaba and Parucki are absent.

November 29, 1996

- Band plays at Shopper's Stroll Parade. 7pm. Dahlin falls off broken stool and into street.

November 30, 1996

- Band plays at Shawn Grady Memorial Tournament at Hamilton College's Sage Rink at 4pm. Dahlin is late.



December 1996


December 10, 1996

- Band D.J.'s at Clinton Hockey's home opener vs. Cazenovia. Clinton wins. Barnaba, Parucki, and Young are absent.

December 17, 1996

- Band plays at Clinton Hockey win vs. West Genesee. Barnaba plays with the band. Parucki is absent.

December 20, 1996

- Band plays at Clinton Hockey win vs. Hamilton. Barnaba, Parucki and Young are there, Hernandez is not. The game is on film.

December 23, 1996

- Parucki & Barnaba begin work on their sixth original song.

December 28, 1996

- Parucki & Barnaba finish their sixth original song and call it "Changes".

December 30, 1996

- Band practices at Dahlin's. 5:30pm to 7:30pm. There is an audio tape of the practice.
